How do I remove or update a saved password in my web browser?
If your browser remembers an old password, keeps logging you in automatically, or a login keeps failing, you may need to remove the saved password or update the stored login. Browsers often autofill outdated credentials, which can prevent you from signing in even when your password is correct.
Follow the steps below to clear or change the saved password in Chrome, Edge, or Firefox.
For Chrome, Firefox, or Edge users:
Step 1: Open your browser
Step 2: Click the three-dot menu (⋯) in the upper-right corner and select Settings.
Step 3: Go to Passwords
-
-
Chrome: Select Autofill and passwords → Password Manager
-
Edge or Firefox: Select Profiles (or Privacy & Security) → Passwords
-
Step 4: Locate the website in the Saved Passwords list.
Step 5: Update or remove the password
-
-
Click the eye icon to view the saved password
-
Choose Edit to update it, or Delete/Remove to erase it
-
For security, your computer may ask for your Windows or Mac login password before showing or changing saved credentials.
Tip: After removing the saved password, return to the website and sign in again. Your browser will prompt you to save the new password.
