# What If There Are Capital Calls with My Investment?

## Overview instructions for investors for initial and subsequent capital calls

Each of our investment checklists will walk investors throught the process of opening a new IRA, funding it, and directing an investment. Please refere to the checklists for a comprehesive step-by-step guide which can be found in our [Investment Hub](https://www.stratatrust.com/investment_hub/). 

**For Investments that Include Capital Calls:**

For the **initial capital call**, upload the initial capital call notice (or sub docs) along with the appropriate [investment direction](https://www.stratatrust.com/investment_hub/direct-an-investment) form. When the investor provides instructions, they will need to indicate the full commitment amount along with the capital call amount for the initial call. 

For **subsequent capital calls**, the investor is required to submit a new investment direction form each time. Upload the capital call notice and indicate the amount required.
